When thinking about anime, the series that most often come to mind are well-liked shonen shows prefer Naruto, Dragon Ball and My Hero Academia. Still, some of the leading shonen anime focuses on more than just the traditional hero's journey.

In order to celebrate love without boundaries, here are some anime TV shows and movies for fans to consider adding to their watchlist. While Kenji Nagasaki is best known for directing the anime classic From my memory, it always felt like BL anime existed as a genre for as long as I can remember. Before BL dramas or movies became mainstream, BL animes and mangas were favor the first frontier, depicting male romances in fiction even when it was taboo in society. In anime, the BL genre is closely related to yaoi or shounen ai, which are labels that explain a very similar type of story. Yaoi is more explicit, shounen ai is more innocent, and BL tends to be the best of both worlds. This genre is a popular niche among certain demographics. You'd be amazed and disappointed at how brief the selection there is compared to all the other genres. And since the selection is so little, this makes it even harder for a fine anime series to approach along. As rare as they may be, there're still some excellent options. Still pretty lgbtq+, specially towards the end. no kissing but you knew they were fucking and REAL great. an openly bi character TV, 2018, 24 eps Me:-Author:10 not a romance anime, but MCs are totally gay for each other. only one kiss, but their relationship is constantly acknowledged by themselves and people around them. TV, 2019, 12 eps Me:-Author:8 gay adjacent, there's odd sexual tension between two characters and it's SAUR GUUDDDDD. no kissing and include in mind this is SSS-tier furry bait TV, 2015, 12 eps Me:-Author:8 GAY Lgbtq+ GAY. self-aware parody anime with homosexual tension and fan service. no kissing, but every same-sex attracted person should view the three seasons. Movie, 2016, 1 ep Me:-Author:10 BL movie, sums up teenage devote and it's a healthy dynamic. only problematic because of an adult but the main couple is not toxic at all. imo top tier BL media, but the art style is not everyone
