It’s been more than five years since I published Foremost Ten Mexican Slang and its sequel Top 20 Mexican Slang. I’d never change the words on those lists, but 10 words, 20 words, heck, 100 words isn’t enough to cover the gigantic amount of slang in Mexico.
So here’s my Master List of the most common, useful, and hilarious words and phrases in Mexican Spanish, which goes far beyond the highest 10 or 20 (or the other articles online with the same words as my first two lists and obvious rewrites of my descriptions. You know who you are). I sincerely hope that when you hear these badass Spanish words, you’ll remember my examples of Mexican slang and laugh.
¿Que Onda?
Along with ¿Qué pasó? and ¿Qué tal?, this is yet another way to say What’s up? A more informal version is ¿Que tranza?, or the vulgar ¿Que pedo?

How Do You Say "GAY" In Spanish? And Other Languages?

I was wondering, to me at least, in English, queer seems too clinical and the everyday term “gay” is used as more familiar, with the other terms deemed offensive, (the s-word, f-word, q-word etc)
I tried Google but I don’t utter Spanish, so I was thinking, gay might come out as “happy” on a translator?
So how would you say the similar in Spanish. Also do other languages have similar “non-offensive” and “non-clinical” terms for gays?

In my experience, there is no pos in Spanish which is both inoffensive and distinctly un-clinical-sounding. “Homosexual” is the word for both “homosexual” and “gay.”
The English synonyms “gay” is becoming more famous among Spanish speakers to convey the latter connotation.

As we all realize , there are certain things that we don’t get taught in school. If we want to be as educated as we can be, there are many things that we have to take it upon ourselves to acquire through our retain research and social interactions.
One colossal theme we could all learn a little more about is how to communicate with or respectfully discuss the LGBTQ+ community. And if you’re teaching Spanish, what improve way to broaden your vocabulary than by learning the correct terms for sexuality and gender to help you understand people and conversations better!
